SWEPCO power to be restored within the hour

Hundreds of Shreveporters are in the dark tonight, but SWEPCO officials believe power will be restored within the hour.

AEP SWEPCO officials say two circuits at the Edwards Street Substation downtown are locked out, leaving about 900 customers without power in parts of downtown Shreveport and the Highland neighborhood.

  However, multiple crews are rerouting customers to other circuits, and once that is complete, they will repair the circuits that are down.
