A Caddo Parish commissioner is renewing efforts to make Queensborough a safer place to live.
That's after an alleged shooting occurred yesterday on Michigan Boulevard. Authorities believe it came about after a drug deal went bad.
Commissioner Joyce Bowman, District 5, has been hosting community meetings since a 3 year old was shot last month while inside home. She believes this recent incident should motivate even more people to get involved with reporting problems to police.
"That's our slogan - see something, say something a lot of citizens have been calling in - various crimes actually that they see going on, on their block, on their street. That makes a big difference," said Bowman.
She hopes to see the biggest turn-out yet at the next community meeting. Right now, it's planned for Monday, August 6th at 6:30 P.M. The Girl's and Boy's Club.
