Almost 1,500 SWEPCO customers in west Shreveport without power

By: Nancy Cook
Updated: July 12, 2012

SWEPCO is reporting 1,492 Shreveport customers in the Pines, Jefferson Paige and Greenwood road areas are without power this morning.

Scott McCloud, spokesman for SWEPCO, said crews have been dispatched to find the difficulty and repair it. He said once the problem is found, power will be restored rapidly, since only one circuit is involved. He speculated that a tree or trees probably went down, hitting the circuit.

He added that that it's been "hit and miss" all week due to the storms, and outages probably will continue until the storms move out of the area.

A map of SWEPCO outages in real time can be found on arklatexhomepage.com by going down the right side and clicking on "SWEPCO Power Outages" near the bottom of the page.
