June's flat jobs report is already having an impact on the campaign trail.

There were just 80,000 new hires, the third straight month of weak hiring.

Unemployment stuck at 8.2%.

At a rally in Poland, Ohio the president looked on the bright side:  Half a million manufacturing jobs have been regained in states like Ohio.

"That's a step in right direction," Mr. Obama said.  "That's a step in right direction, but we can't be satisfied because because our goal was never to keep on working to get back to where we were in 2007."

Mitt Romney was in New Hampshire.

"The president's policies have not got Americans working again, and the president has to stand up and take responsibility for it," he told supporters.

Romney says he would cut taxes and regulation to encourage hiring.

He also promised a new take on health reform.

Back in Ohio, the president toured a plant that makes pasta sauce and noted he's cut taxes $3,600  on middle class families.

He also pointed out that no one pays a health care penalty tax if they buy coverage instead of refusing to.

Since the Supreme Court ruled it constitutional, President Obama gone from barely mentioning his health care law to making it a focal point of his speeches.
