Following this evening's Bossier Parish School Board meeting, officials held another meeting to discuss the impact of a pending lawsuit.
Yesterday attorney John Settle filed a lawsuit against the district regarding the April 21st bond election.
This coming Monday, the system and attorney settle are facing off in court over this lawsuit.
The lawsuit names several defendants, including, the Bossier Parish School Board.
It claims school websites and school employees were used to promote the passage of the three measures.
School board members say they are concerned about the impact the lawsuit will have on overcrowding in the schools.
And, that it might hamper the school board's ability to get low interest rates. "Our main concern is that the longer it takes to sale bonds and construction we will have some delays which will mean increased interest rates for bonds or possibly inflation or construction cost," said Keith Norwood, director of planning with the Bossier Parish School Board.
School board members say they will continue to work on their building construction projects in spite of the pending suit.
