Nightclub Shooting Under Investigation In Natchitoches

A man is dead and another is behind bars after a overnight shooting in a Natchitoches nightclub. Off duty police officers working at Club Illuminations say they heard gun shots around 1:15 Sunday morning. Charles Edwards, Jr. took off running on foot but police caught up with him. Police say Edwards told them Ronnie Brimzey was carrying a gun and had for the past few month`s been threatening his life. They say Edwards managed to take a gun from a club patron. Brimsey was shot once in the abdoman and once in the back. He died later sunday morning at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. Charles Edwards has been charged with 2nd degree murder. He is being held in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
