Elderly woman found dead in Highland area home

Shreveport police were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of Vine Street this morning after neighbors reported they had not seen the elderly woman who lived there for several days.
Neighbors said the woman was outgoing and active, but it was only after a concerned neighbor went into the house and noticed the television was missing that police were called.
When police entered the residence the found the deceased female, who was in her 80s. The cause of death was not immediately known, but an autopsy is being performed.
Also missing was the woman's vehicle, alight-colored 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis. SPD Sgt. Jim Taliaferro, said the car has Louisiana License SCS543. Anyone with any information on this car should contact Crimestoppers at 673-7373
