U.S. Rep. John Fleming (R) Louisiana, this morning announced his plans for re-election at Barnwell Center in Shreveport.

Fleming, a Minden physician, was first elected to Louisiana's 4th Congressional district in 2008.  He replaced the retiring Jim McCrary, who served 10 terms. McCrary was first elected to the seat in 1988, a seat vacated by Charles 'Buddy' Roemer, who was elected governor of Louisiana in October 1987.

The 4th Congressional District includes all of northwest Louisiana, as well as Union and St. Landry Parishes.
