Defendant breaks down as 911 tapes are played in court

By: Nancy Cook
Updated: April 27, 2012

The defendant in the 2nd degree murder trial broke down this morning just after opening arguments concluded and the prosecution began presenting its case.

As Kimethia Coleman listened to her own voice tell a 911 operator that someone stabbed Brian (the victim, Dennis Brian Spinks), repeating the name Brian several times, and also asking, "where the f*** are the police?" she broke down in tears.

The former Minden High School Homecoming Queen (2003) is accused of stabbing Spinks, an airman in the U.S. Airforce, multiple times in an apartment at Quail Creek Apartments in January 2010.

NBC 6 News Crystal Whitman is in the courtroom and will bring details of this riveting trial at 5 and 6 today.
