A Barksdale Wedding Proposal

Another 47 members of Barksdale's 917th Fighter Group are home from Afghanistan.
Twice delayed, it was a warm welcome.
And for one couple in particular, it's the beginning of the rest of their lives.
NBC 6's Nick LaFave and Leslie Draffin have more.
Serving in Afghanistan since December, 47 Barksdale airmen are now home.
For the loved ones waiting to greet them, it's a welcome relief.
"I just can't wait to put my arms around him."
Miranda O'Dell waits for her boyfriend of a year and half, Keith Miner. A wait made a little more difficult for Miranda by not being family.
"Cause you're a not a spouse... so you don't have privileges like you would if you were a spouse."
But, that's a concern Miranda won't have to face ever again.
"Will you marry me?"
"Of Course!"
It's the answer Keith wanted. But, the proposal experienced and unexpected glitch for this tech sergeant when he asked Miranda's parents' permission to marry her while overseas over Skype.
"And as soon as I asked, the internet dropped off."
But, a clear connection 15 minutes later and had the OK. And today, he has a happy fiancee.
"I would never say no. I'm thrilled."
