Karen Wissing with Sciport says more than 1900 people in Louisiana need an organ donation.  If you become a donor, you could save as many as 9 lives and benefit 50 others through tissue donation.  Still, many people shy away from signing over their organs after death.
That's one of the reasons Sciport is holding their first Health Heroes day.  Saturday from 11 until 3 you can visit Sciport for educational information about keeping yourself healthy and you can learn more about being an organ donor.
