National Walking Day

Dr. Dee Barfield, Chief Medical Officer at Christus Schumpert, says walking has many health benefits. Today, National Walking Day, Christus Highland is holding an event at noon to offer tips toward starting a walking plan. By adding 30 minutes everyday you can greatly reduce your risk of developing heart disease. Barfield also says walking helps you lose weight which may decrease your risk of being obese and developing cancers related to obesity. The event starts at noon today at the Millicent entrance to Christus Schumpert Highland.
