Authorities need your help in identifying and apprehending a suspect who robbed a west Shreveport dollar store Wednesday night.
At approximately 8:20 p.m. on March 28, 2011, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported robbery at the Family Dollar in the 600 block of West 70th Street. Upon arrival there, patrolmen contacted a witness who told them a male suspect entered the store armed with a shotgun and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the bandit fled the scene of the crime on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.
Investigators were immediately dispatched and, upon further investigation, were able to recover several key pieces of evidence they believe the gunman left outside of the business. The suspect is described a black male with a slim build who was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a red baseball cap. Surveillance images of the suspect are attached to this release. Anyone who has any information regarding this robbery is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective John Jackson at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
