Barksale's Child Development Center is where military children from 6 weeks to 5 years old spend their days.  While its not technically a school, kids are given the tools to get a great education from an early age.  They follow the Air Force's creative curriculum and state grade level expectations, but Director Betsy Welch says teachers always focus on the children's needs.  They also focus on providing a comfortable, stable environment for children often affected by changes that are due to their parents careers.

Right now there's an extensive waiting list to get in, but Welch says that will be cut short when their new addition is complete this fall.  It's something she's pushed for since she got here 20 years ago.
