Shreveport police this morning (March 21) arrested a Bossier woman and charged her with one count of filing a false public record.
Donna Black of the 4800 block of Shed Road in Bossier was taken into custody this morning without incident and booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
In February, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a reported robbery that allegedly occurred in the 1100 block of Shreveport-Barksdale Highway just after the Krewe of Centaur Mardi Gras Parade.
Upon arrival patrolmen contacted Black, 38, who advised them she was accosted by a white male suspect armed with a knife. Black told authorities the suspect cut her on the top of the hand, stole some cash from her and then fled the scene of the crime on foot.
Investigators immediately initiated an investigation and, based on information gathered during the course of their inquiry, soon learned the victim had not been truthful with the responding officers and that, in fact, no robbery had occurred.
Detectives subsequently obtained an arrest warrant charging Black with one count of filing a false public record.
