This morning, Republican presidential primary candidate Newt Gingrich was at Strawn's Eat Shop Too on East 70th Street to talk to a crowd of around 200 locals about his quest for the nation's top job.

Gingrich, who's in third place in a four-man race, reiterated his pledge for $2.50 gas, criticizing President Obama's energy policies.

In addition, Gingrich pledged "repeal Obamacare," and reduce the nation's reliance on foreign oil.

After Gingrich's Strawn's appearance, he and his entourage went to Ruston, where he is participating in a Town Hall Meeting at Louisiana Tech University. The event is sponsored by the Louisiana Tech College Republicans.

Gingrich will be in Monroe later today, where he and his wife Callista will appear at a Meet & Greet function at The Atrium Hotel there.
