MMA comes to Shreveport-Bossier

Bellatore CEO Bjorn Rebney says MMA (mixed martial arts) is the fastest growing sport in America.  His team of fighters is some of the best, representing six countries and every style of fighting you can imagine. Josh Quayhagen, a Lake Charles native, got his start on the team back in October after besting a world champion in another Bellatore match.  He says since then he's been able to give back to his community, starting the first MMA fighting club in Lake Charles and helping educate future fighters.
Bellatore's battle hits the Horseshoe's River Dome this Friday. Tickets range in price, but you must be 21 or over to attend.  The first fights start at 6.

The Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure's 6th annual 3,700 cross-country tour will arrive in Shreveport June 22, when they are 500 miles into their journey. They will get a rare day off June 23, and then have a 'build day' with the Shreveport-based Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana on June 24.

Missing dog gets reunited with owner

She says last week their dog, Lady, was mistakenly picked up by animal control. Luckily, Lady was discovered two days later at a house across town, all thanks to Dana's son.
Transition from state to private hospitals to take place Sept. 30
In a letter sent Wednesday to employees at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport and E.A. Conway in Monroe. Steven Skinvanos, chairman of the Biomedical Research Foundation that is taking over the two hospitals said the effective date of the transition will be Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at midnight.
