NBC 6 Morning Anchor

Leslie Draffin joined NBC 6 as morning anchor and military reporter in November 2011. You can see her weekday mornings on NBC 6 News Today from 5-7 a.m.
Leslie comes by way of Rock Hill, SC and is excited to explore the ArkLaTex and discover more about Cajun culture.
Leslie is a southerner -born and raised. She grew up in the Palmetto State where she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina.
Starting her career in Beckley, WV, Leslie learned almost every job in a newsroom. She was a reporter, photographer, editor, newsroom manager and anchor. In West Virginia she also learned she didn't like cold weather, so after a year and a half- and more snow than she'd ever seen before- Leslie moved back to the warmth of her home state.
In Rock Hill, Leslie covered local politics and met several Presidential hopefuls including Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum. One of her fondest memories is sitting down to talk one on one with Charlie Daniels.
Reporting on military issues is especially close to Leslie's heart, since her husband, Cody, proudly serves in the United States Marine Corps. She's looking forward to showing you interesting aspects of Barksdale Air Force Base in each week's Barksdale Profile that airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. and hopes to branch out by covering military life in all branches that call the ArkLaTex home.
When she's not working, Leslie enjoys exercising, reading, playing the piano, singing karaoke, catching the latest movies in theaters and spending time with her husband. And if it's warm outside you'll find Leslie spending time by the nearest pool or headed to the beach.
Leslie loves covering the news you care about, so let her know what's going on in your life by sending tips to LDraffin@ktalnews.tv
