Morgan Thomas joined NBC6 in September 2011 as news reporter. Her journalism career began at KRBC-TV in Abilene, where she was Weekend Anchor and Producer and weekday reporter. She left that position to earn a Masters Degree in Mass Communications at the University of Houston. During graduate school she worked full-time as Creative Marketing Consultant writing, producing and directing radio and television commercials. While writing her master's thesis, Morgan worked in the Texas state capital for the Office of the Governor's Appointments Division where she researched and recruited potential governmental appointees. Morgan returned to full time television as a reporter at KTRE-TV in Lufkin.
Morgan attended the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a BS in Communication Studies and was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She spent a semester attending college in Italy and traveling Europe.
Morgan is a crafter and especially likes crocheting afghan blankets for family and friends. She enjoys watching UT Longhorn football, reading, and spending time with Bonnie, her black Labrador retriever.
