Sex Offender Roundup Going Better Than Expected

Caddo Sheriff`s Deputies arrested three unregistered sex offenders Saturday. It is all a part of a ten day operation targeting unregistered sex offenders. Since Wednesday officers have made 25 arrests and 22 unregistered sex offenders have turned themselves in. Deputies say so far the operation is exceeding their expectations.
"Our goal initially was 35. So I think four days into it, to have made that many arrests and to have that many people turn themselves in is a success, so far." said Sgt. Greg Winget.
Sheriff Steve Prator estimates there are more than 500 sex offenders in Caddo Parish. He believes about half of them are unregistered. The operation continues through July 15th.
