Centenary College Hosts Attaway Fellow David Amram

David Amram, a world-renowned composer, conductor, and musician, will be visiting the campus as an Attaway Fellow from Sept. 18 through Sept. 25. Amram will participate in public performances and interact with students in classes such as music history, American art history and film history.

David Amram has composed more than 100 orchestral and chamber music works, and written many scores for Broadway theatre and film. He is also a pioneer player of jazz French horn as well as a virtuoso on piano, flutes and whistles, percussion, and dozens of folkloric instruments from 25 countries. He is the author of three books, and the subject of the documentary, David Amram: The First 80 Years.
