WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND CONTINUING EDUCATION PRESENTS ACT PREPARATION COURSES

Attention high school students-are you intimidated by the ACT  test? Let BPCC Workforce Development and Continuing Education help with ACT  prep courses. Courses will include the following:

ACT PREP Bootcamp-$199

9/20- 10/13

Tuesdays and Thursdays

5:00pm-8:30pm

The ACT Prep Bootcamp course covers all sections of the ACT including English, Math, Reading, Science, optional writing section, and test-taking strategies. Registration for the course does not include registration for the exam.

ACT PREP Workshop: English-$59

Saturday, 9/24

9:00am-1:00pm

In this workshop, you will receive extra training in the English section of the ACT and assistance from BPCC personnel to strengthen your knowledge of English grammar and writing. The workshop will also teach you the exact material, usage/mechanics and rhetorical skills needed to ace the English section of the ACT. Registration for the course does not include registration for the exam.

ACT PREP Workshop: Math-$59

Saturday, 10/1

9:00am-1:00pm

In this workshop, you will receive extra training in the Math section of the ACT and assistance from BPCC personnel to help strengthen your knowledge of the fundamentals of middle school and high school math classes. This workshop will also teach how to grasp a broad array of mathematic material from pre-algebra to the more difficult trigonometry. Registration for the course does not include registration for the exam.

ACT PREP Workshop: Reading-$59

Saturday, 10/8

9:00am-1:00pm

In this workshop, you will receive extra training in the Reading section of the ACT and assistance from BPCC personnel to familiarize you with the format and content of the reading test. The reading test consists of four passages: Prose Fiction, Social Science, Humanities, and Natural Science. Registration for the course does not include registration for the exam.

ACT PREP Workshop: Science-$59

Saturday 10/15

9:00am-1:00pm

In this workshop, you will receive extra training in the Science section of the ACT and assistance from BPCC personnel concerning the necessary study skills that will enable you to understand this portion of the test.  Registration for the course does not include registration for the exam.

BPCC RECEIVES MAJOR GIFT FROM ENCANA OIL & GAS (USA) INC.
Encana Oil & Gas Company (USA) Inc. is investing in the future of the energy industry in Northwest Louisiana with a contribution to Bossier Parish Community College's Capital Fund.  The $425,000 donation will help jumpstart the building campaign for the new Center for Integrated Engineering Technologies (CIET) Building.  The new structure will house the Oil and Gas Technology programs, the Engineering program, the Construction programs, and the Advanced Manufacturing/Industrial Technology programs.

BOSSIER VOLUNTEERS GUILD DONATES TO BPCC FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF NURSING STUDENTS

On Monday, October 3, 2011, the ladies of the Bossier Volunteers Guild (formerly Christus Schumpert Volunteers Guild) donated $10,000 to the BPCC Foundation to support students in BPCC's nursing program. Since 2003, members of the Guild, also known as the "Pink Ladies" have donated $1,000 - $2,000 annually toward the scholarship fund to recognize eligible students in the medical field.
