In a Bossier City second grade classroom some students do not learn from a teacher. They are getting instructions from Captain Patrick Godinez.

"It's hard for us to be in 21 places at once, so offers so much support for us and the children just interact with him so positively" says Jan Rogers, a fourth grade teacher.

Eight airmen from Barksdale Air Force Base take time out of their work day and visit classrooms at Bellaire Elementary School two to three times a month.

"These kids are the same ones that live in our neighborhoods too so we want to make sure that we're visible and showing the community exactly how much we do appreciate them" says Capt. Godinez.

It gives Rogers a chance to focus on individual students and snd students learn lessons from someone different.

"It is a wonderful, wonderful experience for the children. He is such a positive role model" says Rogers.

"It's a wonderful opportunity to share with them what I do, and certain things when they're adults, they can shoot for too" says Capt. Godinez.
