Barksdale Prepares for 67 Aircraft Relocating Ahead of Hurricane Irene

Dozens of aircraft could be arriving at Barksdale Air Force Base Thursday, ahead of Hurricane Irene's arrival on the east coast.

They have offered Barksdale as a safehaven for Seymore Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina.

Barksdale Public Affairs Officer, Major Bryan Purtell says they are expecting sixty F15E Strike Eagle Aircraft and seven KC135 Strato Tanker Refuelers.

Commanders at Seymour Johnson are still evaluating their options are Hurricane Irene approaches.
