Man Injured After Boats Collide on Caddo Lake

Updated: February 5, 2007
Saturday morning, Kimberly Trainor and her father were fishing with her fiancee on the waters of Caddo Lake when they saw another boat heading straight for them. "As soon as we got to the channel to where we could get onto it, we heard the boat coming. We just started screaming and my dad tried to turn." said Kimberly Trainor. When he realized he couldn`t turn their boat around in time, they braced themselves for the impact. "I kind of pulled her back and he leaned. Then it kind of just went right over the top of us." said Trainor`s fiancee, Kevin Cloud. Surprisingly, after the crash Cloud says the driver of the other boat kept going. "They were kind of in a hurry to take off." said Cloud. The boat sustained substantial damage to the windshield. Kimberly Trainor`s father was hit by the flying glass and was taken to the hospital. "My dad was the one that got hit pretty much by all the glass and he got scratched up pretty bad." Trainor says the driver of the other boat did eventually stop and briefly talk to the victims. No word yet if the driver will face any charges.
