So far not much has happened. This time the D-D-A says they have a clear vision of what they want, a place that would be unique to Shreveport. They also want to preserve the natural habitat around the bayou. Frank Williams from the D-D-A says Shreveport is perfect for this type of tourist attraction which would be a lot like the San Antonio Riverwalk.
"They had to create that water; we have the natural water here. So what we would need to do would be to build around it."
Those with the downtown development authority say they`re not trying to compete with the already existing boardwalk which consists of mostly retail shops. Cross Bayou would be different. But to get the project started Frank Williams with the D-D-A says they need investors.
"I think your going to have to have a combination of private dollars coming together to make this work."
