Jungmann and Knebel earn All-America status

AUSTIN, Texas - Taylor Jungmann and Corey Knebel were named to the Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-American baseball teams by Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Thursday afternoon. Both pitchers garnered first-team recognition.
Jungmann is 13-0 with a 0.95 ERA in 15 games and owns the nation's longest active win streak at 15 games. The junior has pitched five compete games, including three shutouts. He has allowed just 67 hits and 27 walks while striking out 116 in 122.2 innings. Jungmann was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and was an All-Big 12 First Team selection.
Knebel has set the Texas freshman record with saves, currently at 16. On the year, he owns a 2-2 record with a 1.32 ERA and 10.57 strikeouts per nine innings. He has allowed just 23 hits and 12 walks while striking out 56 over 47.2 innings. He is a semifinalist for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award and earned All-Big 12 First Team recognition.
Texas has had multiple players named to the Louisville Slugger All-America team in seven of the last 10 years.
The Longhorns own a 45-13 record on the season and open up NCAA Championship regional action Friday with a 6:30 p.m. game against Princeton at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
