Updated: January 7, 2009
The community keeps rallying around a Bossier officer battling cancer. This time, for a LifeShare blood drive in his honor. Earlier this year, Sergeant Pat Chambers was diagnosed with a rare form of rapidly-spreading cancer. Chamber`s needs numerous transfusions. And, Wednesday`s blood drive is one of several to help him through chemotherapy. "Sgt. Chambers was doing a good job at beating this horrible thing called cancer. He`s doing a great job of it. At this moment he`s in Houston receiving cancer treatments and he`s probably going to be there for a couple of weeks." said Mary Jo Henderson of Life Share. Some of the donations will go directly to Sergeant Chambers. Other donations will be used to replenish the current blood supply, which is facing a critical shortage.
