Benefits Planned for Officer with Cancer

Cpl. Kevin Strickland is currently getting treatment in Little Rock for cancer. He`ll return to Shreveport in a few weeks - just in time for two benefit events being held in his honor! SPD will host a ball at Sam`s Town Ballroom on August 17. The event features live music, dancing, silent auction, and a dinner buffet. Tickets run $40 a piece. You can call 673-6932 for more information. Then next day, the department will host a golf tournament at Olde Oaks. It`s a 4 person scramble that begins at 2pm. A team fee is $200; a hole sponorship is $300; a corporate sponsorship is $500. There`s also a putting contest for $5 a person.
