An east Texas man has been charged with murder, after calling 911 Thursday night from the front yard of the Harrison County Sheriff.
Barney Davis, 44, was arraigned on a murder charge Friday and placed on a $300,000 bond, after being arrested around midnight Thursday.
Harrison County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received the Thursday 911 call from Davis, who stated he was in front of Sheriff Tom McCool’s residence and wanted to talk to the Sheriff regarding a shooting incident.
Davis stated he was in front of McCool’s residence and wanted to talk only to the Sheriff regarding a shooting incident. The dispatcher relayed the information to the Sheriff by telephone, and the sheriff went outside, meeting with Davis on the driveway. Davis advised the Sheriff, along with other deputies dispatched to the Sheriff’s address, that he had been in a fight with 50-year-old Glynn Morehead at an address on Maryland Drive.
Deputies were immediately dispatched to the Maryland Drive address, and found a deceased, Glynn Morehead there. Davis was arrested and placed in the Harrison County Jail at around midnight for the offense of murder.
