breaking news
Neighbors of the suspect, Jim Blackwell, say he was seldom at his mobile home in Haughton. Undercover agents say Blackwell was apparently making frequent trips to Shreveport. Thats where agents arrested him for selling oxycontin. Police say Blackwell sold fifteen pills worth three hundred dollars to an undercover officer. A tip lead agents to Blackwell.
"We got on to him through a concerned citizen in which we found a way into him. I found my way into him as an undercover agent and was introduced to him as somebody who wanted to buy pills," an agent said.
According to the agent and Blackwells landlord, Blackwell had prescriptions for the medication. The problem was he was selling it illegally on the streets. Neighbors aren`t shocked a man who lived on their block was arrested for dealing drugs, but say they are glad he was taken into custody.
Blackwell was charged with distribution of oxycontin which is a felony.
