Former Bossier High School principal, Bud Dean was sentenced by a Bossier Parish judge Wednesday afternoon.
EarlIer this year he admitted to stealing more than 30,000 dollars from school accounts to support a gambling habit.
Dean pleaded guilty to six counts of attempted theft.
He then received a suspended sentence of 2-years probation.
Along with that he must complete 60-hours of community service and pay all probation fees.
Dean says he is sorry for his wrong doing, "I make no excuse for my actions, I face my consequences and I made full restitution of the funds that were taken from Bossier High School and that always was my intention and I have sought help with the addiction to gambling that has lead me to this day."
Seeking help for a gambling problem was also part of Dean`s punishment. He most also voluntarily ban himself from all local casinos.
