DWI Task Force on the prowl in Bossier City throughout holiday

By: Nancy Cook
Updated: December 30, 2010

The Bossier City Police Department is increasing its DWI enforcement for the New Year’s holiday to help keep city roads safe for residents and visitors. The department will deploy additional members of the department’s DWI Task Force during the overnight hours Thursday, as well as Friday (New Year’s Eve).

Officers assigned to the DWI Task Force patrol the streets of Bossier City in addition to the regular patrol officers. The task force has but one goal – to proactively seek out and arrest motorists who choose to drive impaired.

The Bossier City Police Department advises persons who choose to drink while celebrating the New Year holiday to play it safe and utilize a designated driver or call a taxi.

Funded by a grant from the United States Justice Department, the Bossier Police’s DWI Task Force is put into operation at various times throughout the year.
