The entire incident was caught on video when the gunman, Clay A. Duke,56, confronted the Bay District school board, telling everyone in the room - with the exception of the men on the board – to leave. The video details the conversation between Superintendent Bill Husfelt and Duke, and tries to persuade him to drop the gun.
Before the shooting started, board member Ginger Littleton, who had left the room as ordered, snuck up behind Duke and tries to pummel him with her large, brown purse made of an alligator-like material. She later told the Associated Press she was trying to divert Duke.
Littleton fell to the floor, and an angry Duke pointed the gun to her head and Said, “You stupid b…..,” but he didn’t shoot her, and instead turned back to the board.
