Webster Parish Sheriff’s narcotics detectives put a Minden drug dealer behind bars Tuesday following an investigation into his alleged drug dealing activities from a Minden-based motel.
Lee Drake Stevenson, 38, of Shreveport Road in Minden was arrested on charges of distribution of a CDS Schedule II (cocaine) and distribution of a CDS Schedule I (marijuana).
Sheriff’s narcotics investigators Lt. Shawn Baker and Sgt. Barry James, working closely with local authorities from the Minden Police Department, busted Stevenson following several undercover narcotics buys they made from him.
“He’s one we’ve watched for a while now,” said Baker. “We’ve made buys from him over the last several months—of cocaine and marijuana.”
Minden Police Lts. Dan Weaver and Marvin Garrett, says Baker, were extremely helpful to the investigation and were equally happy to help put Stevenson out of business.
“This bust took place at a local motel,” said Sheriff Gary Sexton. “Unfortunately we tend to find that motels often become make-shift ‘office spaces’ for heavy dealers. Of course, this isn’t good business for the motels; and it’s certainly not an enterprise we want conducted here in our parish.”
Stevenson was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center where he was booked on charges totaling a bond of $70,000.00.
