A Cedar Hill, Texas resident was arrested Sunday for possession with intent to distribute illegal narcotics in Webster Parish. LeJarvis Damon Stigler, 22, has been charged with possession of a CDS Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding.
Webster Parish Sheriff’s Dep. Bobby Igo, III, conducted a traffic stop of Stigler for speeding 83 mph in a 70 mph zone along I-20 on Sunday night. Stigler, who was heading West-bound in his 1998 Lincoln, told Dep. Igo that he had weed in his car. He was placed into custody and detained by assisting Dep. Dillard Sikes.
During a search of the car, Igo discovered the small amount of marijuana that Stigler referenced; but a closer look revealed a lot more.
“The window control panel of his back passenger door got my attention,” said Igo. “When I removed it I located two large bags of marijuana hidden in a money bag and stuffed down inside the door panel. It was much more than the small bag Stigler told me about.”
Also discovered in the search was a marijuana grinder and more than $300.00 in cash. The drugs, later determined to total more than 40 grams, money and vehicle were seized by officers; and Stigler was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for booking.
