BATON ROUGE - Cool weather greeted 10th-ranked LSU on the practice field Wednesday as the Tigers continued to get ready for Saturdays Homecoming matchup with Tulane with a two-hour workout in full pads. The Tigers will practice again on Thursday followed by a walk-through at the LSU Indoor Facility on Friday afternoon. Kickoff for Saturdays game against the Green Wave is set for 7 p.m. in a sold out Tiger Stadium. "It was a great day," LSU coach Les Miles said following Wednesdays practice. "We got in some good work in all three phases of the game - offense, defense and special teams. The players seemed to enjoy the cool weather. Were looking forward to playing Tulane on Saturday." Miles said three days into the teams preparation for Tulane it appears that the Tigers have moved past last weeks loss to third-ranked Auburn. "Our guys played hard (against Auburn)," Miles said. "If you have regret in a game I think it is harder to turn the page. I don`t think we have much regret. I think our guys gave it everything they had and played very hard. "Anytime a group of men work this hard and come out without a victory, it makes you hungrier. They are really looking forward at an opportunity to get back on the field and play again." Miles said one of the areas of focus this week as been that of the running game. LSU is averaging 147 yards rushing per contest, but they are coming off an outing that saw them gain just 42 yards on 23 attempts against Auburn. "Charles Scott will get a little more time at tailback," Miles said. "We are going to challenge our backs, get them some carries and see who comes out on top. We are looking for the best back." Through three games, the Tigers have used the running back-by-committee approach with Justin Vincent, Alley Broussard and Jacob Hester each splitting time at the position. Broussard leads the Tigers with 92 yards on 26 carries. Miles reported that senior tight end Keith Zinger (stomach ailment) has returned to practice this week after missing most of the last two weeks. Miles said he expects Zinger to see action against Tulane. "Its good to have Keith back," Miles said. "Hes practiced all three days this week. He looks good. He looks healthy and hes putting weight back on and thats good news. I think hell play on Saturday against Tulane."
