Update: Texas Teacher Injured By Student

By: Maria Vallejo
Updated: March 5, 2008
We first told you about a Texas teen who injured a teacher's aid Monday. Now we have new information. We spoke with Vickie Jackson's daughter. Nickie Jackson told us her mother spent the past eleven years working with children. A job she enjoys. Nickie says her mom never expected a student to do what they say he did. " The next thing she knows he is behind her and clothes lines her off this wall the sit on at the school." Jackson ended up in the hospital. At first Vickie Jackson was diagnosed with a broken neck. Now doctors say she is severely bruised and might even have an infection. Jackson was released from a Dallas hospital on Friday. She spent the entire weekend at home. Monday she was remitted to a hospital in East, Texas. While Jackson recovers, the 16 year old police say assaulted her is in a juvenile detention center waiting to go before a judge. A punishment her daughter say's is not harsh enough. Even though Nickie Jackson wants the teen to spend time behind bars for what they say he did, only a judge can decide what will happen. The teen is scheduled to go to court later this month.
