ULM FOOTBALL PRACTICE REPORT

MONROE, La. -- Temperatures reached the low 100`s as the ULM football team put in a single-day practice on Tuesday afternoon. But the Warhawks pushed through the heat to have another solid outing. In red-zone drills towards the end of practice, the offensive unit was able to get the ball in the end zone twice - a run by junior Calvin Dawson and a reception by freshman Aaron Stringfellow from sophomore Chance Payne. Wednesday will be one of two remaining two-a-day practices of the preseason. Practice times on Wednesday are 9 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Practice Notes: *The first of many professional scouts expected to visit the ULM campus this season was at practice on Tuesday afternoon. Alonzo Highsmith of the Green Bay Packers staff was on hand to observe senior defensive backs Chaz Williams, Kevin Payne, and Quintez Secka. *ULM fans will be able to see former player Brandon Guillory on the professional level on Thursday night, Aug. 17, on KARD FOX 14 at 7 p.m. when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the New York Giants. *Another ULM player involved in Friday night`s Bears-Chargers match-up will be San Diego linebacker Steve Foley. Foley, in his ninth season in the NFL, played for ULM from 1994-97.
