SHREVEPORT-Centenary head volleyball coach Jenny Hazelwood has announced the hiring of Susie Jangada as assistant coach. Jangada replaces the recently departed Teri Fry who left Centenary to pursue career opportunities. "With the season just a week and a half away, we are very fortunate to have someone like Susie join our staff," Hazelwood said of her new coach. "I believe her experiences at both the professional level and in college will bring a lot to our program. I look forward to seeing the impact she will have on our team." Jangada played professional volleyball in Europe for three seasons after finishing her collegiate career at Ball State. A 65" middle blocker by trade, she was named to the Mid-American All-Conference Team three times and was selected to the All-Tournament Team twice. "I am excited about the opportunity to work with Coach Hazelwood and the Centenary volleyball program," said Jangada. "I am eager to get started and help this team realize the potential it possesses." Jangada most recently coached at South Adams High School in Berne, Ind. Her prior coaching experiences include stints with several club teams and multiple camps such as the University of Florida, Florida Southern, and Ball State. "Susie is a great person and I look forward to working with her," said Hazelwood. "She and I have very similar coaching philosophies and I think we will be a strong combination in the gym."
