BATON ROUGE - Former LSU running backs Robert Toomer and Solomon Lee have both been named to head coach positions at the high school level in Louisiana this week.
On Monday, Toomer was named the head football coach at Abbeville High School, while Lee was appointed head football coach at Jackson High School on Tuesday.
Abbeville competes in District 5-4A, while Jackson is part of district 8 at the 2A level.
As a player at LSU, Toomer played in 43 games at running back for the Tigers, starting 13 times.
He rushed for 1,030 yards and 14 touchdowns during his LSU career, which spanned from 1992-
95.
Lee earned two letters during his career with the Tigers. He played in 27 games during his career, starting eight times at fullback. Lee was a member of LSUs 2001 Southeastern Conference Championship, which was the first outright league title for the school since 1986.
