NEW ORLEANS SAINTS AGREE TO TERMS WITH FIFTH-ROUND PICK DE ROB NINKOVICH

The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with DE Rob Ninkovich, it was announced today by Executive Vice-President/General Manager Mickey Loomis. Selected in the fifth-round (135th overall) in Aprils NFL Draft, Ninkovich recorded 16 career sacks at Purdue. Ninkovich (6-foot-2, 252 pounds), earned second-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior and was voted the teams Most Valuable Player. In his two seasons with the Boilermakers, he compiled 71 tackles (55 solo), two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a pair of interceptions. Ninkovich is the third 2006 Saints draft choice to agree to terms, joining sixth-round pick CB Josh Lay and seventh-round selection WR Marques Colston.
