Benedetti Stays Hot In Shreveport

Haughton, LA (July 14, 2006)...Camilo Benedetti (Colombia, South America) fired a four-under par 68 Friday in the second round of the Olde Oaks Classic over the 7319 yard, par 72 Olde Oaks GC and stands at fourteen-under par 130. The former Florida Gator stands two strokes in front of Ted Potter (Silver Springs, FL). Potter fired a seven-under par 65 Friday and moved to twelve-under par 132. Kris Blanks (Rincon, GA) who started the day in second place, fired a four-under par 68 and moved to eleven-under par 133, all alone in third place. Todd Pinneo (Fayetteville, AR) fired the low round of the day with an eight-under par 64 and is joined in fourth place by Matt Every (Daytona Beach, FL) and Ryan Baca (Sugarland, TX). The trio stands at nine-under par 135. Andrew Lanahan (Baton Rouge) heads up the contingent with ties to the state of Louisiana in the Olde Oaks Classic after firing a second consecutive three-under par 69. Former LSU Tiger William Lanier (Augusta, GA) fired a two day total of three-under par 141, while Shreveports Stuart Riegel finished his event at sixteen-over par 160. Round Three will begin at 7:30 Saturday morning with the leaders going off number one at 9:20. Sixty-eight golfers made the cut of even par 144. The total purse for The Olde Oaks Classic is $120,000 with $20,000 going to the winner.
