NATCHITOCHES --   Northwestern State coaches and athletic staff, headlined by football coach Bradley Dale Peveto, will visit eight sites throughout Louisiana beginning July 19 in Many during the annual "Demon Victory Tour" greeting fans and supporters and offering a chance to win free tickets for the 2011 NSU at LSU football game.

The goal of the summer tour is to generate enthusiasm for the athletic department, with an emphasis on the upcoming football season.

The Victory Tour will visit  Sabine Parish (July 19), Alexandria (July 20), Baton Rouge (July 21), Lafayette (July 22), Winnfield (July 26), Shreveport (July 29), Red River Parish (July 30), and Natchitoches (Aug. 25).

"These tour stops are a chance to rally Demon supporters and to hopefully attract new ones," said director of athletics Greg Burke. "The tour stops are always enjoyable for everyone, but we are confident this summer's tour will be the most enthusiastic and memorable yet."

Peveto and assistant football coaches will be joined by coaches from around the NSU athletics department at the tour stops, which are open to the public. Posters and schedule cards will be provided at each tour stop and NSU gear will be available for purchase. The Winnfield Tour Stop includes a prime rib dinner and requires reservations and an admission charge, while the other Tour Stops are free of charge with food also being provided to guests.

Prizes and official NSU apparel will be given away at each event. Everyone attending will be able to leave a business card or complete a contact form to enter a giveaway of two tickets to the Sept. 10, 2011 NSU at LSU football game in Tiger Stadium. Those who are current season ticket holders will be eligible for additional giveaways.

Attire is casual and guests can arrive and depart at any point. A brief program featuring Peveto, Burke and associate athletic director Dr. William Broussard will be held in the second hour of each tour stop.
