FORMER SOUTHWOOD COWBOY TODD SELF TOOK THE FIELD TUESDAY NIGHT AS A MEMBER OF THE SHREVEPORT SPORTS. AFTER BEING RELEASED FROM HIS SECOND MINOR LEAGUE TEAM OF THE SEASON, LAST WEEK. AFTER BEING TRADED FROM HOUSTON LAST SEASON TO THE NEW YORK METS SELF SPENT THIS SEASON SPLIT WITH THE METS AAA CLUB AND THE YANKEES DOUBLE-A CLUB BEFORE BEING GRANTED HIS OUTRIGHT RELEASE LAST WEEK. HE COLLECTED ONE HIT IN HIS DEBUT WITH THE SPORTS, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A 7-3 WIN OVER FORT WORTH.
