Who Wants To Visit Shreveport-Bossier?

By: Import User
Updated: February 5, 2007
What`s so great about Shreveport-Bossier? "I once said that Shreveport`s a great place to live, but not to visit... that has changed, said long-time resident Jerry Kircus. A new convention center, casino gambling, great shopping and the explosion of the local film industry has made Shreveport-Bossier quite the destination. Now the Bureau of Convention and Tourism is hoping to cash in. "We`re vying for visitors. We`re vying for conventions. So heaving a clear brand will help us to differentiate ourselves from our competitors," said Communications Director Brandy Evans. Evans says the bureau has brought in an outside company to find out the best way to market our area. "They`ve been in our market. they`ve done some interviews. They`ve talked to community leaders. They`ve done some man on the street interviews." After months of research, the bureau of convention and tourism is asking for your input, before they finalize their new marketing campaign. "Because we don`t want to come up with this awesome brand that no one has heard of, they`ve had no part in and they really can`t take ownership of," said Evans In the coming weeks local residents will have the opportunity to fill out an on-line survey explaining what they think Shreveport-Bossier has to offer. So we can all show everyone what`s so great about Shreveport-Bossier. Stay with KTAL to find out when and where you`ll be able to participate.
