The Louisiana Public Service Commission has directed Louisiana electric and gas companies to avoid cutting off residential customers when temperatures dip to 32 degrees or colder.
The Public Service Commission said a company can not cut off the power when the previous day`s temperatures fell to 32 or below and the following day`s temperature is predicted to remain at or below freezing.
Campbell has also proposed a rule that utility companies may not disconnect customers during summer heat waves.
That proposal will be considered at the next Public Service Commission meeting February 14 at Cypress Bend Conference Center near Many.
