Shreveport Police Chief Mike Van Sant dodged a bullet last week after rear-ending another driver on I20 on Friday. Van Sant wasn`t charged with intentionally causing the accident and was not cited. Some may have felt he got off because he was a member of the law enforcement. Bossier Police told KTAL that it is up to each officer who responds to any accident to decide if an individual should or should not be charged with negligence.
