The Department of Agriculture took samples of the gasoline at the Raceway Gas Station on North Market St. in Shreveport Wednesday after several drivers complained of gas contaminated with water.
Troubleshooters has confirmed 11 reports from drivers who filled up at the Raceway station Monday evening only to find their cars broke down soon after filling up. Racetrac Petroleum officials admit there was a breach in the vapor line causing water to leak into the regular unleaded gas tank.
Racetrac officials say the company will pay for the necessary repairs to vehicles as long as the customers have legitimate claims and receipts. If you think you have been a victim, call Racetrac`s regional manager at 1-800-388-8035 ext. 1837. If you think you have been sold bad gas at any station, call the Department of Agriculture immediately at 1-800-247-1086.
