Jeri Porterfield is one of those benefiting from the program. After being thrown from a moving car in 2005 Porterfield has been unable to work. Bills started piling up and Porterfield needed help and the program was there to lend a hand. The Louisiana Crime Victim Reparation fund is financed by fines paid by convicted offenders. In an eight year span the Bossier Parish Sheriff`s office has handed out more than $300,000 to victims. If you have been the victim of a crime in Bossier Parish, you can apply for the program through the Bossier Parish Sheriff`s office.
